It used to be considered a fashion faux pas to pair black and brown together - and throwing blue into the mix – even worse. I’m a firm believer however, that when done correctly, black and brown are two of the most complimentary colors of one another and more often than not come together for a great outfit.
I’m also a huge fan of pairing black and blue. For some reason the navy and black combo is considered especially taboo. Navy and black are two of the most flattering color choices to wear individually, and they look great together as well.
While the navy/black/brown combo is great for the fall and winter months, for spring and summer it’s best to keep one color on the lighter side – like this short sleeve shirt from Topman. Short sleeve button downs have become a staple of my summer wardrobe. They keep you looking sharp and put together but keep you cool in the summer heat.
I’m sporting my go to – 7 For All Mankind – No Fade Black Black Black jeans. I’ve worn and washed these countless times and they still look brand new. Paired with a Christian Louboutin billfold and derbies – for a simple yet on-duty summer look.
