London based Orlebar Brown has collaborated with timeless Italian sportswear label, Emilio Pucci, on an exclusive capsule collection for summer.
For those unfamiliar, Orlebar Brown launched in 2007 when photographer Adam Brown noticed a discrepancy in men’s and women’s swimwear. Brown aimed to create a “short you can swim in” that would give men something they could wear to the beach or pool but also into a restaurant for lunch. Orlebar Brown’s cuts are slightly more tailored and have become one of the most popular men’s swimwear lines in recent years.
Few brands carry the Italian jet set allure as much as Emilio Pucci. Primarily known for geometric prints in a kaleidoscope of colors, Pucci has been one of the most coveted labels in women’s fashion since the 50s. While they have always dabbled in men’s ties and dress shirts, their colorful style has always been best suited for resort wear.
To this day, one of my favorite things in my closet is a pair of Emilio Pucci swim trunks I purchased over 5 years ago. While they used to come out with men’s swimwear every spring/summer, in recent years it’s been unavailable.
The twenty piece capsule collection re-connects Emilio Pucci with its resort-style menswear roots while keeping in line with Orlebar Brown’s modern tailored swimwear. The line is available online at both orlebarbrown.com and emiliopucci.com for a limited time.
