In 2006, Fabrice Penot and Eddie Roschi (both formerly of Giorgio Armani fragrances) established niche perfume line -- Le Labo. Their NYC based line is nothing short of perfection. Each scent is signature, built around a primary natural essence. The number in the title refers to the amount of raw ingredients used in each custom formula. Each bottle is created made-to-order, and packaging can be personalized with the wearer’s name.
It can be challenging to find a fragrance that one immediately connects to. I often try a new scent every couple of months. As of recent however, I’ve been stuck on Le Labo’s Santal 33. It’s a blend of sandalwood, Virginia cedar, leather, papyrus, violet, musk and amber. This combination comes together to create an amazing aromatic & masculine scent. For anyone who likes a spicy woody fragrance, Santal 33 is incomparable to anything else.
In addition to cologne, perfume oil, lotion and shower gel -- I recently discovered the scent is available in the form of laundry detergent. Yes, laundry detergent! Le Labo collaborated with fabric care experts -- The Laundress -- to formulate the highest performance, best smelling detergent on the market.
