Hospitality entrepreneur, Dustin Lancaster, has created an unconventional dose of design history here in Los Angeles. Located directly above Lancaster’s Bar Covell on Hollywood Blvd in Los Feliz lays LA’s newest concept boutique hotel – Hotel Covell.
Hotel Covell is a five room hotel centered around the life story of a fictional character, George Covell, a bon vivant writer whose bio is the basis of the decorating schemes in each room. Each of the rooms (deemed chapters) have a bachelor-esque apartment feel.
Chapter one is set in Oklahoma (where Lancaster is from) and follows Covell’s path to New York, Paris and Monaco. Ending with Chapter 5 as the envisioned apartment Covell’s daughter would have lived in, in New York in the early 80’s.
Each of the chapters/guest rooms are set back in time and blend vintage and new items that create a retro yet modern luxury feel (think Chateau Marmont). Rooms range from 300 to 800 square feet and rates start at $245. The lobby is located in the rear of the building and Lancaster plans to add a roof deck above it.
With few other hotel options in the area, if you find yourself in Los Angeles, be sure and check out this revolutionary property. Each boutique suite is designed for complete comfort and relaxation. Ideal for both short term and long term stays, Hotel Covell is the perfect home-away-from-home in Los Angeles. For more information visit: http://www.hotelcovell.com/
